After completing the course, the attendees will be able to handle the most common functions and processes in a z/OS environment. The aim of this course is to give the attendees knowledge about how systems are customized and managed in order to provide good quality operation and performance.
Audience
Technicians that master basic functionality, installation, customization and upgrading of the z/OS environment and wish to continue learning about efficiently operating the systems.
Prerequisites
The attendee should either have the equivalent knowledge or have attended the previous courses (Part 1: z/OS Fundamentals and Part 2: Installation, Configuration, Customization, and Upgrading of z/OS).

- Adaptation of system features such as SMF, logs, VLF, LLA, etc.
- Handling of data storage, SMS, HSM, etc.
- Performance and cost management, RMF, SCRT, etc.
- Basic automation with NetView/System Automation
- Problem determination and basic in dump analysis
- Advanced management of a parallel SYSPLEX
- In-depth management of RACF
- In-depth adaptation of the USS
